Meet The Owner

Animals have been a constant thread in my life for as long as I can remember. While other kids were trading toys or talking about summer plans, I was the one reading about different breeds, begging to visit pet stores, and volunteering to watch any animal I could. Caring for pets wasn’t just something I enjoyed, it was the place where I felt most at home.

My first real step into the pet-care world happened in high school when I worked as a kennel technician at a veterinary clinic. It was there that I learned what compassionate care really looks like, the quiet moments with nervous pets, the joy of helping them heal, and the trust that forms when an animal realizes you’re there to help. In college, I continued that journey as a pet care specialist at a pet store, eventually training in their grooming salon. During all this, something else was happening without me even realizing it: I had become the pet sitter for everyone I knew. Family, friends, neighbors, whenever someone needed their pets cared for, they came to me. And I loved it! That steady stream of pet-sitting turned into something bigger once my grooming clients began asking for the same help. Word traveled fast, and soon I found myself balancing a full grooming schedule with a growing list of pet-sitting clients. I hit a crossroads. The set salon hours didn’t give me the flexibility my pet-sitting clients relied on, and I kept feeling pulled toward the part of my work where I got to build deeper, one-on-one connections with pets in their own homes. So I made a decision that changed everything. I stepped away from full-time grooming and launched Claire’s Critter Care.

Today, I’m grateful every day that I trusted that instinct. Serving pets and their people across Baldwin County is more than a business to me, it’s the continuation of a lifelong passion. Each pet I care for becomes a little part of my story, and I hope to become a trusted part of yours, too. I can’t wait to meet your beloved companion and give them the attentive, loving care they deserve.
